Mehr Demokratie leitet die Bewerbungen dann an die Landeswahlleitung weiter. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DE style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DE style='font-size:11.0pt'>„Bis September brauchen die Bezirke für die Bundestagswahl und den Volksentscheid rund 21.000 Wahlhelferinnen und Wahlhelfer. Weil Demokratie ohne den Einsatz dieser Menschen nicht funktioniert, helfen wir gern bei der Suche nach Freiwilligen, die Demokratie einmal live erleben wollen“, sagt Oliver Wiedmann, Landessprecher von Mehr Demokratie. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DE style='font-size:11.0pt'>Vorkenntnisse sind für einen Einsatz als Wahlhelfer/in nicht erforderlich. Voraussetzungen sind allerdings die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft und Volljährigkeit. Alle notwendigen Informationen erhalten die Helferinnen und Helfer durch Informationsmaterial und in freiwilligen Schulungen. Für ihren ehrenamtlichen Einsatz erhalten Wahlhelfende als Entschädigung ein „Erfrischungsgeld“ in Höhe von 50,- € im Wahlvorstand, bzw. 35,- € im Briefwahlvorstand.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DE style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DE style='font-size:11.0pt'>Am Wahltag unterstützen und überwachen die Wahlhelfer/innen die Stimmabgabe, sorgen für Ruhe und Ordnung im Wahlraum und für die Wahrung des Wahlgeheimnisses. Sie beschließen über die Gültigkeit und Ungültigkeit von Stimmen und ermitteln das Wahlergebnis im Wahlbezirk.
